We are actively engaged in fundraising activities for our school to help offset the parish subsidy and ensure St. Thomas has a vibrant future. There are many opportunities to support these efforts. Many of these are “no cost to you” options. As you shop or purchase items for your household, there are many businesses that will provide funding back to St. Thomas every time you shop. The SCRIP gift cards have already provided much needed funds to our school. Please familiarize yourself with these opportunities and activities and take part in these programs that will benefit STA. As always, thank you for your continued support to ensure the long term viability of our school.

What is the endowment fund?
The endowment is a long term financial asset which will generate income to fund a portion of the school’s operating and capital budget. It also provides a financial safety net for the school in the event of unforeseen financial challenges.
How is the endowment different than other fundraising activities?
Other funding initiatives seek to supplement the annual operating revenue on a year-by-year basis, the endowment initiative seeks to create a long term financial asset which will produce an ongoing stream of investment income to supplement the school’s annual income.
Why do we need an endowment?
In January 2012, the Archdiocese identified our school as one slated for consolidation by the Blue Ribbon Commission. Our school has been supported by a $500,000 annual parish subsidy. Our appeal to the Archdiocese, which was successful was predicated on our commitment to reduce and eventually eliminate this subsidy.
Is this a new concept?
No. Endowments have been used by parishes for years and have been successful. For example, St. Mary Magdalen parish has a $1 million endowment fund.

In return, our sponsors will be recognized through a number of media, including our new 4' x 8' electronic board in our gymnasium. This board is viewed year-round throughout the school year by our families and numerous visitors who participate in our CYO sports activities.
