The St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Youth Organization (CYO) is a parish organization. It shall function with the approval of the pastor. Its purpose shall be to provide the opportunity for participation in religious, social, athletic, service and cultural activities for all the youth who are members of the St. Thomas the Apostle Parish.
The Office of Youth and Young Adults (OYYA) of the Archdiocese of Philadelphia states "The parish-based CYO program, after many years of successfully providing a visible outreach, continues to offer opportunities and encouragement to the youth of the Archdiocese. Its five-phase program develops mature personalities according to the lifestyle of Christ, through a combination of spiritual, cultural, service, social, and athletic activities. The emphasis of the program is to provide opportunities for youth to participate and grow within the parish community." The St. Thomas the Apostle CYO heartily endorses the purpose and goals outlined by the Archdiocesan CYO. It also adds its own comment -- "CYO is for our children and it should be fun."
The CYO Board meets the first Thursday of each month at the school conference room next to the old gym.
